Minor Exterior Modifications to Historic Permit

Created by Reem Kaddoura, Modified on Tue, 10 Jan 2023 at 02:22 PM by Reem Kaddoura

For minor exterior modifications, use the HP Permit Adjustment Application form. Please note that an existing Historic Preservation Permit is NOT required when new minor work is proposed. Exterior work that may qualify for a HP Permit Adjustment includes:

  • Doors, windows, and trim
  • Fences
  • Landscaping
  • Porch components
  • Reroofing and minor work on walls
  • Rear yard accessory buildings and structures
  • Stair replacements
  • Small rear additions

All work must be done in accordance with the applicable design guidelines and in a manner so as not to affect the historic significance, use, general character, architectural style, circulation, or other site function of the property.

Decision-making on an Adjustment application: City Planning staff handle the review and approval process of this application.
