Notice re Construction Taxes: The Building and Structure Permits Fee Schedule, on page 29, includes new International Code Council (ICC) valuation rates that are effective August 14, 2023. Some projects submitted prior to August 14 without yet paying permit fees may be subject to additional construction taxes per the updated valuation rates.

METHODS OF PAYMENT
Note: Fees of $100,000 or more must use a check or wire transfer.
- Pay online with credit card or eCheck. Effective July 1, 2021, credit card payments are subject to a third-party service fee of 2.4%. To avoid this fee, use an eCheck or other method of payment.
- Pay by wire transfer. Instructions: Email PermitCashier@sanjoseca.gov and provide this info: a) Wire amount; b) Wire date; and c) Invoice #
- Pay by check. Pay at City Hall, First Floor Cashier (appointments are required) or mail check payment to:
